In extreme cases, the dog will also fight for you and attack any violent intruders. Many property owners have kept guard dogs to ensure their property remains safe. Dogs have much more developed senses than we do. They could hear footsteps several meters away. Besides, they could smell much better than us. Dogs have noses that scientists claim are 42 times more sensitive than ours. This enables them to detect any intruders in or around your house.
Dogs can also offer a lot of help with work in or outside of your home. Shepherds and herders for example, use dogs to take care of their animals. Pest control experts have also trained dogs to detect pests like bedbugs and mice that are hard to find inside houses. They are also used quite heavily by security and police departments and some of them are even considered as employees by these organizations as we had discussed earlier. They can detect harmful items like bombs and contraband or even help chase after fleeing suspects.
